Wheat Ridge Mayor's Message |

|
On behalf of the City Council and staff, I want to thank you for your
support of the Applewood Business Association and the City of
Wheat Ridge. In 2008, the city made great strides in repositioning
the community, including:
Completion of the 40th Ave. underpass and opening of the SH 58/I-70 flyover.
Land assemblage at 44th and Wadsworth Boulevard for a future mixed-use development.
Launch of a new city website to enhance access to city services and information.
Continued partnership with WR2020 to create a vibrant and sustainable Wheat Ridge!

These accomplishments are just a glimpse at the hard work and efforts taking place as a result of
the synergy created by citizens and the business community collectively working towards epositioning
Wheat Ridge.
In 2009, we will continue to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars in the increasingly challenging
economic times. The city is committed to effectively managing the assets of our community
operating with a balanced budget and finding new ways to improve and enhance the services we
provide. In the coming year, the work of City Council and staff will be guided by the Vision 2014
Strategic Goals covering city services, sustainable growth, economic vitality, quality of life, and
civic engagement. Thank you for supporting the City of Wheat Ridge!
Jarry DiTullio,
Mayor
City of Wheat Ridge
